Bev's Talks Episode 1 - How To Solve Emotional Eating with Nicole Dennison

As some of you may remember, I recently went to Miami for a business event.  Whilst there I met some truly wonderful and HUGE hearted women who, like me, are on a mission to change the world – one person at a time.

The event was for coaches – any kind of coach – and I, for one, had never realised that you could be coached on SO many things!  I have fallen in love with working with a coach – I currently have two – and I also love hanging out with coaches because they are so heart-centred and are genuinely caring people.

People nowadays talk about having a ‘tribe’ and I now feel that I’m actually part of one.  It really is a sisterhood of women who are there to support and uplift each other through the good and the bad.

One person I literally fell in love with when I first met her in Miami is Nicole Dennison.  Nikki, as we all call her, hails from sunny Florida, USA and  is a certified Life Coach trained by Tony Robbins – the ultimate motivation guru.  She wanted her focus to be on helping people with their health, though, so she did further study and became a Certified Holistic Health Coach.  Her business is called Change The Course Coaching and she works globally online with (predominantly) women, specialising in emotional eating.

Nikki is a master at getting to the root cause of her client’s emotional eating and shows them how they can get their needs met through healthy sources.  She teaches them about their body, their mind, their thinking processes and about how to get their needs met in healthy ways in place of the ‘harmful’ ways they have been choosing.

How can you tell if you’re an emotional eater and need some help?  Here are a few questions to get you thinking…

  • Do you eat more when you’re feeling stressed?
  • Do you eat when you’re full or not even hungry?
  • Do you eat to feel better (to calm and soothe yourself when you’re sad, angry, bored, anxious, etc.)?
  • Do you reward yourself with food?
  • Do you regularly eat until you’re stuffed?
  • Does food make you feel safe? Do you feel like food is a friend?
  • Do you feel powerless or out of control around food?
