Hi there! In 2011 I was a 48 year old professional photographer who felt frumpy, middle aged and invisible. I knew I needed to lose weight but had convinced myself over the years it was middle-aged spread and I should just accept it.
I returned from the USA in October that year to see the most unflattering picture of myself in the local newspaper. That was my “aha” moment. Before then I had never exercised. I would scoff at people doing fun runs and going to the gym while sitting down to another brunch of pancakes and bacon drowned in maple syrup. The most exercise I got was walking my two dogs, making sure I avoided hills at all costs. The day after I saw that photograph I joined a gym and hired a Personal Trainer. I attended seminars on nutrition, read books and taught myself what I needed to know to help myself change.
I understand what it’s like to feel that you want to change but you don’t know how. When I gave up my photographic career and became a Personal Trainer, I wanted to be able to provide clients with a completely holistic service. I had my Personal Trainer to teach me how to exercise but I had to teach myself how to change my diet and I remember at the start how helpless and frustrated I felt. So I take that pain away from you with guidance and education.
And it doesn't matter where you are in the world! I have had clients in Oman, the UK and Italy as well as all over New Zealand. You get the same results whether you are online via skype or in the same room as me!
I'm now nearly 53. I might have the occasional pancake as a treat, I relish hills on my dog walks, I love exercise and I am in the best shape I have been in, well…. ever. I’m also happier, more optimistic and more relaxed than I’ve been in years.
